August has been bittersweet for us to say the least. While we've enjoyed a great all-around summer, we've also faced the loss of our dear friend, Bill Miller. Bill went to be with the Lord on Monday the 31st. When we told the kids that Bill moved to heaven, Mikayla said: "With Nana!" And Leah followed it up with the thought that Nana is probably showing Bill around right now. Bittersweet indeed. Bill had been battling cancer for some time but was surrounded by friends and family when it was finally time to go. Please pray for Marjie (and their kids: "young" Bill and Jeannie and their families, too) as they mourn the loss of a great man.
Just a thought with this: oftentimes when a Christian dies, people say something to the extent that the person has gone to a better place. "A better place"? I appreciate the sentiment, but in reality, that is possibly/probably the greatest understatement in the universe. In all actuality, there is no better place anywhere. For the believer in Jesus, earth is the closest thing we'll ever have to hell. For the non-believer on the other hand, earth is the closest thing they'll ever have to heaven. Our friend Bill simply changed his address; we have all of eternity to be with him and the rest of our loved ones in the Lord.
With summer finishing its course, the Zichy Kastély turns back into a Bible College. I'll be teaching two classes this semester and Christi will have some new challenges on her plate as well. She will be teaching Leah and Kara in the mornings as part of their school. Please pray for her as she knows that this new adventure will have its fair share of... how shall I say this... opportunities to be stretched. Along with being a full-time mom, she will be a part-time teacher as well. Let the good times roll!

Slide show time: here are some pictures to try to recap the summer for us in Vajta (and elsewhere).
Thanks again for all of the prayers and support! Please keep praying!
Lots of love,
Jeremy & Christi
