And... it's October. I have a reminder on my calendar telling me to update our blog, and as of today, I'm actually four days overdue with this. Well, better late then never, right? Right? Come on folks, help me out on this one.
So, September... let's see... let's see...school started for the Bible College and it has been a solid semester already. We have a few less students than usual, but they're GREAT and we're really enjoying getting to know them and minister to them. Classes have been going well so far (Joshua and the Pastoral Epistles) - as our friend Mark Walsh would say, "Nobody died." Besides classes, the "10-Day Outreaches" are coming up really soon. Please pray for the staff and students that will be going on outreaches from October 17-26. They'll be heading to several different cities in Hungary, as well as to Moldova, Kosovo, Romania, England, Ukraine, and India.
This past weekend (October 3-5) we went to Celje, Slovenia to enjoy the wedding of our good friends, Justin and Erin. It was a great time of celebration. Christi sang during the ceremony, Kara did her best at being a flower girl (almost made it to the front without crying...), and I had the privilege of doing the exchanging of their rings in the ceremony.
Oh... right... what about Ireland? Some of you have asked about how my trip to Ireland went in September. Well, to put if simply, it was grand. Our big prayer (many thanks to everyone that prayed for us with this) was for clarity and the Lord couldn't have been clearer. Here you go: we believe that the Lord is moving us to Ireland. At this point, we're just looking for the right time to head out. We'll be here through this semester, of course, but it looks like we'll be heading there no later than June, but it could be as soon as February, 2009.
Please pray for us as we serve here this semester, start to think about wrapping up this chapter of our family's life, and as we seek the Lord for His direction and His provision ("Ireland ain't cheap!").
URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: Please pray for our dear friend of ours - Ann - she was recently diagnosed with cancer and will be going in for surgery on Monday the 6th of October.
SALZBURG: Please check out the link on the right for the Ibbotsons in Salzburg, Austria - they're doing well but can use prayer for a handful of things!
Lots of love and lots of gratitude for the prayers and support!
